Spent the last day of winter... at the beach!

Upon hearing that the weather was going to be fabulous, I decided that the boys and I should spend my first official day of Spring Break at the beach.

Typical of myself, we got a late start and didn't get on the road as soon as I had planned, arriving in Seaside at 1 pm; but after parking, loading up the wagon, and getting us and all the supplies onto the beach, I realized our timing was just perfect. Bryson had the opportunity to take a nap on the ride down, we had our lunch before leaving Portland, and we were ready to play. A breeze was still blowing so the boys kept on their light jackets for a bit but by late afternoon, they were ready for swimsuits.

After exhausting ourselves on the beach digging holes, making sand castles, burying Brady and chasing seagulls, we went for dinner at Pig N Pancake.

Gross for me, but the kids enjoyed it and gobbled up their pancakes. Afterward, we went into Funland so Brady could play some arcade games, followed by the Seaside Mall where we all rode the carousel.

Bryson's favorite part of the trip was the ride on the carousel. He waited patiently while Brady played arcade games and then basically dragged the two of us back to the mall. I wasn't sure how it was going to go since Bryson doesn't like to ride rides, and started screaming when I put a quarter in the Mack truck ride-on that he was sitting in at the arcade, but it worked out great! While waiting at the gate to get on Brady chose a reindeer which was perfect since it was "pulling" a sleigh for both Bryson and I.

We had a great day and piled into the car for the drive home as the sun was setting.
