Brayden runs naked... and ends up with 9 stitches.

Last Sunday after Bill got Brady and Bryse out of the tub, a naked Braydo hopped up into the chair next to me and waited patiently for me to finish whatever I was looking at on my laptop on the couch and squeal at him about his nakedness. He took off running down the hallway toward his room laughing like a maniac, only to return naked so that I could squeal at him again. Ya, I know, we are kind of a weird family and this is kind of a routine for us. Except, for the longest time the boys would put on their monster hooded towels and come out so I could scream in fright at their scariness. I'm not sure when it took this turn...

Anyway, Bryson heard Brady running down the hallway and my squealing at him and quickly joined in. As Brady ran down the hallway toward his room, Bryse ran down the hallway toward the living room. They met at the box of costumes that had been dragged into the hall and as both went to dodge around it, kablam - head on collision. Brady immediately dropped to his knees, curled into a ball and started crying. And since he rarely cries, I knew he was definitely hurt. I wrapped him up in my arms as Bill came into the hallway to pick up the also crying, Bryse, and when I pulled away from Brady to tell Bill what had happened, he told me I was covered in blood. We quickly got him dressed in some spider man pj's, gave him an ice pack to hold on his eyebrow, and Bill whisked him off to the nearby Urgent Care.

Bill said that Brady did awesome getting his stitches and didn't cry or even move an inch. He said that they put a numbing cream around the area before giving him the numbing injection which is awesome since I remember feeling the needle in my face for all the stitches I got as a kid. So 9 stitches later (8 across the top and 1 dis-solvable underneath) a happy Braydo skipped through the doorway with a handful of stickers, two of which he had picked specifically for Bryson. Bryson was asleep by the time Braydo got home at about 10:30 so the first thing Brayden did when he woke up in the morning was gave Bryson his stickers. He's so sweet.

I should say, Bryson did end up having a small goose-egg on his forehead that bruised. I am amazed at how much damage his little head caused his brother, and how little injury he ended up with. And now that Brayden has had his stitches for a week, he is completely sick of people asking him what happened. Too funny. Maybe he will remember that running around naked for laughs can have consequences. :)

This picture was taken today, a week from the accident. As you can see, he happily posed. On Tuesday he has an appointment to have the stitches removed and then I guess we'll see what kind of a scar it develops into. He'll be the next Dylan McKay.
